Posted February 20, 2018 11:13:50 Asap is working on international projects.
A new, ambitious project is now in the works for a project in Indonesia.
The project is to construct a 3-D model of the southern island of Java.
The Jakarta-based company says it plans to use the model to study the potential economic impacts of a massive dredging project.
The company says the model will be able to “show what could happen if the proposed development were to take place on the islands” and how the affected people would react.
The plan was unveiled during a presentation by Asap CEO John A. A. Ries on February 13 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
A key aspect of the project is a plan to use a 3D model to “explore the economic impact of a dredging proposal.”
The company is using a 3DS software program called TensorFlow.
Tensorflow is based on Google’s DeepMind technology, and is a tool used to study human behavior.
A few weeks before the presentation, Atsuo Tachibana, the president of the Tokyo-based Asap Technology Group, said the company would be using Tensor in Indonesia to develop a model for a proposed dredging plan.
Tatsumi Suzuki, a lecturer at the Graduate Institute of Technology of Japan, said he thought the plan would be a “great project.”
“We’re really hoping that the project will be completed by the end of the year,” Suzuki said.
He said the project had received approval from Jakarta and the Indonesian government.
“The project will help to understand the impact of the proposed dredge on people’s livelihood and the environment,” Suzuki added.
Atsuko Suzuki, the Indonesian president, will host a press conference to announce the Asap project, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on February 23.
He will also unveil the AspTech project plan, the company said.
Suzuki said the Asps project is not just a business venture.
“It’s really about the people of Indonesia and Indonesia’s development and about its role in the world,” Suzuki told reporters.
“This is really a global initiative, and it’s something we will be very proud of.”
He said Asp will be focused on “development of infrastructure and research in Indonesia and also in other countries around the world.”
In Indonesia, the government and the company are expected to discuss the plan during a meeting in Jakarta on February 19.
“We will be taking part in the meeting as a group to discuss how to best advance this project, as well as the broader impact of this project,” Asap president and CEO Ries said in a statement.
He added that the plan “has been developed with the aim of making this project successful and beneficial to the entire community.”
In the past year, Indonesia has been the site of a series of large-scale projects that are intended to boost the economy.
The country is one of the world’s top three producers of coal, and has a history of development and cooperation with other countries, including China, Russia and India.
A recent government report showed the country had the third-largest coal reserves in the Asia-Pacific region, with more than 8 trillion cubic meters of coal.
Ried said the government had received several thousand applications for the project.
“I think the government will have to look at it very carefully, because we’re still working with the project’s contractor and the project team,” he said.
“If we do it right, we should be able … to make this project a success.”
